It’s an intense workout done for a few seconds, followed by a few seconds of rest – then repeated in the same pattern.
Usually, the entire session is completed within 10 to 30 minutes.
Because of this, it’s a very suitable workout method for those with time constraints.
It is one of the best workout methods for burning calories, improving heart health, and enhancing overall body function.
Let’s look at an example:
20-minute workout – First, 5 minutes of warm-up cardio; this can be jogging, burpees, jumping, or any similar activity.
Then for the next 10 minutes – do 30 seconds of intense exercise, followed by 30 seconds of rest.
Continue this for 10 rounds.
That totals 15 minutes.
For the remaining 5 minutes, do a cool-down – light walking, breathing exercises, or stretching.
This is just an example – doing even 10 minutes at the start may be difficult.
In such cases, you can start with just 5 minutes, and instead of 30 seconds, do 20 seconds of exercise and rest. You can adjust accordingly.
